Ridgely Evers – Founder
Ridgely is a veteran entrepreneur who has been CEO of companies in the software, real estate, investment, online media, and consumer products industries.
In 1988 he joined Intuit – then a small startup – and led the creation of QuickBooks.
In 1990 he imported olive trees from Italy, the first brought into the US in the 20th century. He and his wife, chef Colleen McGlynn, then founded DaVero Farms & Winery, a certified Biodynamic® producer of some of the most highly-regarded Italian-varietal wines and olive oils in the country.
A lifelong supporter of America's small business community, he was recruited to serve on the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board. He also served on the board of SCORE, a nationwide organization providing counseling services to small business owners, and is active in a number of local organizations in Sonoma County. He is also a founding board member of the Winegrowers of Westside Road.
He earned a BA in International Relations, with distinction, from Stanford University, and an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. He holds several patents, and has been writing software since 1967.
He has led the development of Captina, writing both the spec as well as much of its over 300,000 lines of code.
Tracey Welch – President
Tracey has a long background in business. She has been part of Captina for many years, and is a CPA by training. Prior to moving to California, she worked as an auditor for Price Waterhouse Coopers, where she also spent several years leading complex business software integrations for their clients.
She was drawn to Captina because of her broad business knowledge, starting in the role of Director of Client Services. But she quickly grew into her current role as President, overseeing every aspect of our sales and support, and personally training each new customer. She's at least as passionate as Ridge about great support — support that often goes above and beyond to include sharing best business practices with our clients.
David Lents – Lead Software Engineer
David is one of those rare engineers who "gets" the whole problem, from user interface all the way down to the bits and bytes.
Reading his bio is like looking at a laundry list of Internet technologies, which is understandable given that his career spans nearly 30 years — all of it deeply enmeshed in the Internet. David is always at work advancing the program, and makes sure our servers are humming.
David is also responsible for coordinating our developers, who are scattered literally around the globe.
